Father's Day

Today we made banana pancakes just as Ned would have with Vicki and Shaan. My mom always made banana pancakes for us growing up (her recipe needs to go in the cookbook).  It's funny that as great a cook that he was, Ned made them from a Bisquick Mix, but somehow that seems like the right thing to do with a two year mashing them in a plastic bowl and being able to get them ready quick.   Ned, Vicki and Shaan always made banana pancakes on the weekend and they listened to the Jack Johnson song by the same name.

Before breakfast, I got Ned a father's day card at the BelAir Market up the street - one that was addressed to a brother. Logan, Ron and I all signed it.  These little things make us feel better or at least bring us together so we can feel terrible together, knowing we are not alone.

I know that it was hard for my dad today, not getting a call from his son. I wish he had been there with us to eat the pancakes and feel a little better for a minute.
