On Sunday morning a group of family and friends went to the Sierra Nevada mountains to scatter Ned's ashes in the swirling ebbs and flows of the rushing river. Mom and dad scoped out and found the place. It was unbelievably sad, powerful and beautiful and I think it gave us all a lot of comfort to be there amidst the beauty and connect Ned to it. We threw rose petals of many colors in with him and his dog Klaus' ashes followed him.
All that we can do now is to carry on and live out our dreams, to connect with nature and to make this world a better place to honor Ned.

Of importance to me was that we said goodbye to Ned on the celebration of African Liberation Day in D.C which always takes place around the time of Malcolm X's birthday. I heard that yesterday's events were extremely powerful and inspiring.
